Stormy weather fells tree on A17 near Newark Golf Club and flood alert in place on River Trent
Stormy weather has brought down a tree on the A17 tonight (Monday) and caused damage to a car.
The tree came down near Newark Golf Club, and has blocked the carriageway on both sides.
A car travelling along the road at the time was hit by the tree, but there are not thought to be any serious injuries.
More on this as we have it.
A flood alert is also in place for the River Trent from Cromwell Weir to Gainsborough, and flooding of roads and farmland is possible from 7am tomorrow morning.
River levels are rising at the Torksey river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall, and areas most at risk are Church Laneham to Rampton Road.
